Certificates and memberships

International standards, certifications, responsibility commitments, and industry memberships demonstrate our dedication to quality and customer‑oriented service.

Certificates

ISO 9001

We use the ISO 9001 standard to demonstrate our ability to consistently provide products and services that meet our customers’ statutory and regulatory requirements. The certificate awarded to Servica confirms that our quality management system meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. We received the certification for the first time in November 2020. By earning this certification, we show our customers that our operations and services meet the criteria of an international quality standard.

This certification requires us to maintain a strong customer‑oriented approach and to continuously develop our processes to ensure an excellent customer experience. Annual surveillance audits verify that we follow the principles of continuous quality improvement and that our operations continue to meet the requirements of the standard between re‑certification audits.

Commitments

Circular Economy Green Deal

Servica promotes carbon neutrality and the sustainable use of natural resources and is committed to the Circular Economy Green Deal in Kuopio. As the provider of the City of Kuopio’s food services, we have joined Finland’s national Circular Economy Green Deal – a voluntary agreement aimed at reducing the use of natural resources and advancing the circular economy by 2035. At Servica, the goals of the commitment focus especially on a regenerative food system.

We are reducing the carbon footprint of school and daycare meals by increasing the use of vegetarian and fish dishes. Our nutritionally balanced vegetarian meals are increasingly made fully plant‑based, which also reduces the need for special‑diet meals. We are also increasing the use of Finnish fish in the city’s food services. In the future, climate and ecological sustainability will be incorporated into our service agreement through binding targets.

Servica is committed to minimising food waste and food waste disposal. We sell leftover food at our units and continue to improve information flow and our backup meal system. Our goal is to reduce food waste by 70 % compared to the 2022 baseline. We also work to increase the appreciation and appeal of school meals in collaboration with pupils and by improving quality.
